Sustainable Materials Platform
Near converts palm waste into bio-based materials and verified carbon removals — building the region’s climate infrastructure from the ground up.

The opportunity
Plastic pollution, leather supply chain emissions, and unmanaged agricultural waste cost the region billions — and accelerate climate risk.
Conventional packaging breaks down into microplastics now detected in human blood, lungs, and placentas. Health regulators are catching up; brand exposure is rising.
Animal leather accounts for roughly 17kg CO₂e per square meter and consumes vast freshwater. Synthetic alternatives shift the harm rather than removing it.
The MENA region generates millions of tonnes of date palm waste annually — most burned or landfilled. A waste stream waiting to become feedstock.
Materials
All three materials are derived from the same palm-waste feedstock, processed through Near’s patented extraction system, and verified through integrated carbon accounting. For packaging applications, choose finished products from Near or feedstock for your own manufacturing.
Lead product
A premium leather alternative engineered from palm fiber. Comparable hand-feel and durability to animal leather, with a fraction of the embodied carbon. Designed for fashion, automotive interiors, and luxury accessories.

Drop-in bioplastic resin for packaging, consumer goods, and industrial applications. For manufacturers running their own extrusion or injection-molding lines. Available as pellets or finished compound.
Talk to our teamTechnology
A four-stage process that turns regional agricultural waste into verified, carbon-linked materials — with every kilogram traceable from farm to finished product.
01
Date palm waste collected from regional growers under traceable supply agreements. Diverts biomass from open burning and landfill.
02
Proprietary mechanical-thermal process separates fiber and binder fractions. Patent-protected. Low-energy, low-water, no toxic solvents.
03
Fiber and binder are recombined and formed into bio-leather sheets or bioplastic pellets via existing manufacturing partner infrastructure.
04
Every batch is logged with MRV-grade carbon accounting and aligned to Article 6.4 methodologies, generating verified material plus optional credit issuance.
What makes us different
Most material companies bolt carbon claims on after the fact. Near is built carbon-first — every kilogram of material carries verifiable removal data, ready for compliance and voluntary markets.
Compliance
Methodology mapped to the UNFCCC Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism. Engineered for sovereign-grade carbon removal accounting from day one.
Trade
Embedded carbon data flows through to your EU customers, satisfying Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism reporting without bolt-on consulting overhead.
Voluntary markets
Material sales and carbon credit sales decouple, but share a single MRV ledger. Two revenue streams, one verified chain of custody.
Impact
Provisional figures based on lab-validated yields and Phase 1 production targets. Final values verified per batch under our MRV framework.
